The Best Sunset Spot in Ibiza – and Important Things to Note Before Going

Mystical. Magical. Speechless. Vibes. This sunset spot is THE best spot in Ibiza to view the sunset. It may even be the best I’ve ever seen. If you’re in Ibiza, you must visit El “Mirador des Vedrà” to view the sun set over the uninhabited limestone Island Es Vedrà. While this is 100% worth your time even if it may be a bit of a drive from Ibiza Town or wherever you are located, there are some SUPER important things to note before going.

Below are a few pictures and a video from the sunset viewpoint called “Mirador des Vedrà”. It is beautiful because firstly the vibes are immaculate at the viewpoint. It is filled with both locals and tourists perched on various spots and nooks and crannies on the ground. Almost everyone will have a blanket and drinks and someone is sure to be playing some chill music in the background. When the sun finally sets, you’ll hear a large applause. Despite the viewpoint being very popular, it doesn’t feel overcrowded or busy. You are sure to feel very peaceful and enjoy the chill vibes.

Second, the view is breathtaking. You are pretty much viewing the sunset from the edge of a cliff and all you see in front of you is the water and Es Vedrà, which pretty much just looks like a large rock. But despite it literally just being a large rock it gives off a mystical feeling which everyone feels. Even after the sun sets, the air around is misty and creates a light fog that just makes everything feel even more magical.

I HIGHLY recommend going here while in Ibiza but before you do, take note of the following things I wish I knew before going:

  • There are several ways to get there. Driving to the viewpoint was extremely stressful and frankly scary because the path we took on our way there was a low-quality road, that had no lighting (sun was already setting so it was getting pretty dark even on our way to the sunset), and was very hilly with sharp turns. However, on our way back we took a path that was going through little quaint towns and was well lit. So just make sure to take a good look at google maps before choosing your route!!

  • The main parking lot is pretty much a free for all on a plot of land at a 70 degree angle..nough said….

    • Try to get there early to find a parking spot because there aren’t many and its kind of a mess- do not recommend for unexperienced drives!

  • Allot time to walk from the parking lot to the view point. My friends and I were running late and didn’t realize we need a solid 15 minutes to walk from the parking to the actual viewpoint so we pretty much almost missed the sunset because of this (caught the last few minutes luckily)!

  • My friends and I got lost taking the path back from the viewpoint to the parking and ended up having to walk 45 minutes on the side pitch black roads to find our way back, this is definitely something that would only happen to me 😊 but felt I should share in case anyone else tends to be a lost duckling sometimes.

All in all, this is an activity you will not regret. Make sure to make some time and visit El “Mirador des Vedrà” for some peace and serenity. If you're not sold yet, just take a look at this video ;)
